Core concepts
The eight words that appear everywhere in Blogged, what each one means, and how they relate to each other.
Most of Blogged is eight nouns. Once these are clear the rest of the product reads as combinations of them.
Workspace
Your account. It holds your Projects, your team, and the single subscription everything is billed under.
Project
One product with one blog. A Project holds its own strategy, topics, posts, knowledge, assets, theme, domain and analytics, and it carries its own plan.
Pricing is per Project, not per workspace. One workspace can run several Projects on different plans under one subscription. This is the single fact that explains most of the billing behaviour, so it is worth reading Running several Projects before adding a second one.
Blog
The public site a Project publishes to. It has an address, a theme, navigation, search and its own analytics. Every Project has exactly one.
Strategy
What the blog is for, generated from the evidence you provide and approved by you. Approving a strategy is what produces Content Directions, which is the thing everything downstream actually depends on.
Content Direction
A lane the blog writes in. A Direction carries an audience, a funnel stage, an angle, target keywords, and three settings that decide how much freedom automation has inside it:
- approvalauto | review
Whether posts in this lane publish on their own or wait for a person. This is enforced no matter which Autopilot mode is running.
- lengthshort | standard | long
How long articles in this lane should be. With
lengthModeset to auto, the drafting worker picks the depth the evidence supports instead.- ctabook_demo | start_trial | lead_magnet | newsletter | none
Which call to action posts in this lane carry.
Directions also carry a share, which is how much of the blog's output belongs
to that lane.
Topic
A specific article worth writing. A Topic has a title, a target keyword, an outline, a search intent and a priority, and it usually belongs to a Direction. Topics are approved before anything is written against them.
A Topic can also belong to no Direction at all. That is a real editorial state rather than missing data: a Topic that came out of Competitor Blog Watch triage can be filed under general content.
Post
An article, at some point in its life. A Post carries a status and an author mode, and both matter:
- Status is where it is:
idea,researching,draft,needs_approval,scheduled, orpublished. Content freshness reviews are tracked separately so an editorial finding can never change public availability. - Author mode is who produced it:
Autopilot,AssistedorHuman.
See the post status reference for what each status allows.
Knowledge
Governed facts about your product, your competitors and your keywords, each one tied to a source. Drafts are written against this rather than against whatever a model remembers. See the Knowledge Engine.
Autopilot
The scheduler and executor that runs the pipeline for you. It has two automation modes, Assisted and Full, and it respects every Direction level gate in both. See Assisted and Full.
