The theme step comes early on purpose. Everything published later inherits it, and reviewing the visual identity while the evidence is fresh is cheaper than restyling a blog that already has articles on it.

What you are reviewing

Two things at once:

  • The identity found on your site: colours, typography and logo picked up during the scan.
  • The layout, chosen from the built in themes.

The built in themes

ThemeSuits
Minimal SaaSA blog that sits beside a marketing site. Reads like a product page in essay form.
YC EditorialLong form writing where the argument is the product.
Developer DocsTechnical writing with code, structure and reference material.

Each has a live preview, and none of them locks you in: the theme can be changed later from the blog settings without touching a single post.

What completes the step

Reviewing it. The step records that you looked, so a Project cannot reach publication with a theme nobody ever saw.

Next

Strategy, which is where the evidence turns into an editorial plan. Full detail on themes and brand is in your blog site.
