A Topic is one article worth writing. Blogged generates them from your
Directions, and you approve the ones that should exist.

## What a Topic carries

A title, a target keyword and secondary keywords, an outline, the search intent
behind it, a funnel stage, a priority, an estimated difficulty, and the product
tie in that keeps it relevant to what you sell.

Most Topics belong to a Content Direction, which is what decides how they are
written and how they are approved later.

## Reviewing them

Approve the ones that are right, reject the ones that are not, and edit the ones
that are close. Rejecting is useful signal rather than waste: it is how the
Topic pool converges on the blog you actually want.

## What completes the step

At least one approved Topic. Nothing can be drafted until there is one, which is
why this step is required rather than optional.

<Callout variant="note">
  Topic generation counts against your Project's topic allowance. On a paid plan
  that allowance resets each billing period; a Free Project's 40 Topics are a
  one-time lifetime total. See [usage and limits](/billing/usage).
